A progressive voice for workers across Zimbabwe's engineering and metal industries.
Our Story
ZEMTAWU is a 21st generation trade union that seeks to micro-scopically identify employees' challenges in the workplace, to the magnitudes at which the vices and follies which workers face in the hands of their employers affect them, whether socio-economic or workplace safety. We unite efforts and ideas to prescribe solutions to hardships in the engineering industry across Zimbabwe.
We represent workers in engineering, metal fabrication, motor industry, electrical manufacturing and allied industries. Our union subscription is the lowest in Zimbabwe, only 3% of the employee's salary, catering for representation, administrative expenses, and more.
Our vision is to evolve beyond traditional unionism to a Solidarity Worker and Union Alliance, a union of choice, with workers at heart, taking unionism beyond the horizon.
Our Foundation
Collective strength through solidarity. When workers stand together, industries listen.
We stand with every member through disputes, hardships, and celebrations alike.
Every worker deserves to be treated with respect, regardless of grade or sector.
Fair pay, fair opportunities, and fair treatment for every worker, always.
